Pomeranian Special Economic Zone – Incentives:

Conducting business activity requires a permit which entitles investors to get the income tax exemption according to:

  • investment costs specified in a permit,
    and/or
  • level of employment specified in a permit

Minimum value of investment costs is EUR 100,000.

The entrepreneur may obtain public aid in the form of tax exemptions due to:

  • costs of a new investment covering 50 % of these costs (and additional 10 percentage points for a medium-size enterprise or 20 percentage points for a small-size enterprise)
    and/or
  • creating new jobs, covering 50 % of two-year costs done by newly employed workers (and additional 10 percentage points for a medium-size enterprise or 20 percentage points for a small-size enterprise)

Pomeranian Special Economic Zone:

Crystal Park

A sub-zone of the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone was created thanks to the investment of the Japanese SHARP CORPORATION. The area of electronics compound that was created along the national road No 1 between Ostaszewo and Lysomice within the area of the PSEZ was called „Crystal Park”. SHARP, together with its cooperating companies, manufactures state-of-the-art modules for LCD monitors.

The permit for conducting business in Ostaszewo near Torun in the scope of Crystal Park was granted to daughter companies of companies active on markets of many other countries, such as: ORION Electric, Tenscho Electric Industries, Sumitomo Chemical Co., Ltd, Tokai Pressing Co. Ltd and Okaya&CO., Ltd, Sohbi Kohgei Co. Ltd and Hanwa Co., Ltd, Sanritz Corporation, Kimoto, Co., Ltd, Nyklogistics, U-Tec Corporation.

Thanks to the investment of SHARP and its cooperatives there will be 10 thousand new workplaces in Ostaszewo by the year 2011. The worth of the investment is over 1 billion zloty.

As of January 2007 the area included in the Ostaszewo economic zone is almost 180 hectares.

  • On 29 March 2006 the Lysomice Local Council made a decision allowing for the establishment of a Special Economic Zone of the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone, within the territory of the commune.
  • On 15 May 2006 at the meeting of the Voivodshi Parliment the members decided on joining by the Kujawsko – Pomorskie Voivodship to the Pomeranian Economic Zone Ltd. with seat in Sopot and agreed to take shares in it.
  • On 11 July 2006 by the decree of the Council of Ministers of that day on changing the decree on PSEZ the territory of Lysomice commune totalling 134,95 ha were included.
  • On 8 September 2006 the Local Council agreed on a decree concerning tax exemption on the real estate aimed at entrepreneurs whose investment includes costs that qualify for new investment support and is over 1.000.000 euro or will create at least 50 new workplaces.
  • On 5 December 2006 the Council of Ministers agreed for a project of a decree concerning the PSEZ, proposed by the Minister of Economy on joining the an area of 142,6648 ha to PSEZ, including areas localised in the Lysomice commune. The decision of the Polish government concerns the realisation of further investments, granting employment for 1824 people. As a result of that change the area of PSEZ in the Kujawsko – Pomorskie voivodship, in the Lysomice commune amount to 177,61 ha.
